All change at Almerimar Golf Course

 Work has been taking place on the Almerimar Golf clubhouse since 2007. At long last the work should soon be coming to an end. The owners of the course recently announced in a local Spanish newspaper that the new clubhouse will be open in July 2010.

Almerimar golf course has never had a separate clubhouse before. In the past the pro-shop has been located in one of the hotels close to the course. Originally the golf facilities were located in the Almerimar Golf hotel which is currently being refurbished and is due to reopen in 2011. More recently they have been located in the AR Almerimar hotel which is located on a different part of the course.
When the golf facilities moved into the AR Almerimar hotel the layout of the course changed so that the first hole was close to the hotel. When the new clubhouse opens the course will go back to being played the way that Gary Player designed it as the current 7th hole will become the 1st again.
